Naval 14 years ago: “the future will be almost all startups” “I think the size of your average company is going to decrease. we’re gonna see billion-dollar businesses built by 4-5 people.” the prediction has already come true. we’re at the very beginning of a sharp spike in one-person or small-team businesses. it’s been long time coming, and AI is accelerating it even more. what does this mean? it means to be hirable and valuable as a skilled worker, you can’t be just super-good at one niche. you must be a polymath, an expert generalist. there are now essential skills you must know and you’re seeing the need for them already in the job application process. > articulating > building solo projects > marketing yourself and your work > understanding design and UX > social media these are not skills you should go to college for or spend 5 years learning. they’re essential for the post-AI man. you either adapt or slowly but surly fade to irrelevance.
